Seismic Restrainers
Seismic restrainers are used to transfer forces between the superstructure and substructure in combination with bridge bearings under the effects of earthquakes and other dynamic loads, while still allowing displacement or deformation. The products are manufactured in compliance with the following standards:
- American Standard – AASHTO LRFD (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials LRFD)
- Vietnamese Standard – TCVN 11823:2017: Highway Bridge Design
- European Standard – EN 1337: Structural Bearings
- Indian Standard – IRC:83 Part 1: Standard Specifications and Code of Practice for Road Bridges, etc.
Product Features
- The device is capable of withstanding loads ranging from 120 kN to 9,000 kN in one direction (similar to guided bearings) or in all directions (similar to shear keys).
- Steel pins: Manufactured in accordance with ASTM A668 Class G or equivalent standards.
- Rubber elements: Made from natural rubber or synthetic rubber in compliance with TCVN 13067:2020, AASHTO M251, EN 1337-3, IRC83-Part II, and related standards.
- Lifting eye bolts: Manufactured in accordance with DIN 580 or equivalent standards.
- Seismic restrainers are applied to structures subjected to seismic effects or other dynamic loads, including railway bridges, steel bridges, balanced cantilever bridges, and similar structures.”
