Steel strip-seal expansion joint
VHR steel strip-seal expansion joint made by Vinh Hung Investment and Production Company Limited (Vinh Hung IP) comprises of two steel rails with anchor bars connected to embedded bars in the bridge deck or eadwall of abutment, elastomeric strip serves as the trough for drainage and debris, nosing materials: non-shrink mortar or concrete with minimum compressive strength of 40MPa.
There are 2 main types of VHR expansion joint identified by the cross section of the steel rails: VHR-C steel rail expansion joint and VHR-F steel rail expansion joint.

Totally accommodate to longitudinal movement up to 100mm, and also vertical and transverse movements if any.

To ensure the long-life durability, VHR steel strip-seal expansion joint is protected against corrosion by the following methods: two-component epoxy coat, PU-based painting (Polyurethane) in accordance with the corrosion categories specified in ISO 12944 (TCVN 12705). In particular, the Al–Mg thermal spraying method (at the ratio of 95% Al and 5% Mg) ensures the anti-corrosion durability of up to 100 years, proven by salt-spraying test in 12.000 hours (8-hour dry-wet cycle repetition) under ASTM B117 standards.
